Market Reversal • Before The Bell
The Nasdaq Hit a Record. Bonds Backed Down.
Three days ago this was the worst week since March. Monday the 10-year slipped back under 5%, and chips did the rest. Here is what rides on Tuesday.
Tuesday, September 22. The Nasdaq is at a record, AMD just cleared $600, and oil is back under $100. Every bit of it traces to one wire.
RATE INCREASE COMING? Why Your Power Bill Is Set to Rise
Something new is plugging into the power grid and draining it — something that can devour the electricity of 100,000 homes at once, likely being built in your state right now.
In some states, bills are already up 20% in a year, and James Altucher believes that’s just the start.
So he’s identified the one company in prime position to facilitate a plan that’ll let you flip this rate hike into a profit.

Key Idea
The 10-year Treasury yield fell to 4.95% on Monday. That is the rate that prices every stock you own. It dropped about six basis points. That is six one-hundredths of one percent. And the Nasdaq jumped 2.3% to a record close. Chips led the charge. AMD topped $600 for the first time. Intel rose 13%. Nothing about these companies changed over the weekend. The wire did. The entire rally rode one falling yield.
The Reversal
Three trading days ago, this was the worst week since March. Then the tape turned.
The tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite gained 2.26% to 27,122. A record. The S&P 500 rose 1.49% to 7,764 and closed within 0.4% of its own high. The Dow added 366 points. On Friday the S&P sat about 2% under its record. By Monday’s close, almost the whole gap was gone. Open your brokerage app and Monday was a wall of green.
Here is what actually moved. The 10-year yield backed off 5%. Oil cracked. WTI, the U.S. oil benchmark, fell 4.5% to $95.78 and dropped back under $100. Lower yields and cheaper oil are the two things that lift a stretched market fastest. You got both in one session.
We told you Friday to watch the 10-year, and that a slip back under 5% was the release valve. Monday it slipped. The valve opened.

Personal Flight
After the Test Flights Came a Nasdaq Ticker
Doroni has already flight-tested its prototypes. Now the company has reserved the Nasdaq ticker $DRNI, marking another step toward a potential public-market debut.
At this stage, $DRNI is a ticker reservation, not a listing. Still, the move adds to tangible progress already made.
Doroni’s prototype program has completed more than 70 test flights and received FAA clearance for testing. The company has also attracted 600+ pre-orders representing more than $240 million in potential revenue.
More than 15,000 investors have backed the current round, and Doroni has raised over $35M to date. Initial commercial deliveries are targeted for 2028.
Doroni shares are currently available at $3.30 through its Regulation A round. For a limited time, investors can receive up to 20% bonus shares.

Risk: A ticker reservation does not guarantee a Nasdaq listing, which remains subject to approval. This is a speculative, illiquid early-stage offering, and investors could lose their entire investment. Read the offering circular before investing.
What Lit The Chips
The leaders were not defensive names. They were the most rate-sensitive corner of the market: semiconductors.
AMD, the chipmaker chasing Nvidia in AI hardware, cleared $600 a share for the first time. Intel, the U.S. chipmaker Washington is leaning on to rebuild domestic supply, jumped 13%. The move had real fuel behind it. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent called this weekend’s talks with Beijing a very successful engagement. A report has SK Hynix circling a deal with Intel. And Meta rolled out a new AI agent that leans on their chips.
So what. When yields fall, the stocks that gain most are the ones priced on profits far in the future. That is chips. The same math that punished them at 5% rewards them at 4.95%. This cuts both ways. That is the part most readers will miss.

The One-Wire Market
Here is the asymmetry nobody is pricing. Monday’s record was not built on better earnings or a friendlier Fed. It was built on one number falling six basis points. That is a thin foundation for a 2.3% jump. It means the same wire that lifted chips can drop them just as fast. The 10-year is the tell for your whole portfolio right now, not the S&P ticker. Watch the yield and you will see the next move in tech before the tech does. PCE lands September 30. That is the inflation gauge the Fed watches most, and it is the print most likely to yank the wire the other way.

Three Ways Tuesday Goes
Base
Yields stay near 4.95% and the record holds into the open. Chips keep the leadership: Nvidia (NVDA), AMD, and the semiconductor fund (SMH). Add quality that funds itself, like Microsoft (MSFT). Keep a token energy hedge in Exxon (XOM), since oil at $95 is still not cheap. Micron (MU), the memory-chip maker, reports September 30 and is the next catalyst for the group.
Upside
Yields keep falling and the S&P clears its high. A close above roughly 7,816 puts the index in blue sky, and the rate-sensitive names that lagged catch up: homebuilders (XHB), regional banks (KRE), and small caps in the Russell 2000 (IWM). This is the broadening the bulls have waited for. If you parked cash near 5%, this is the tape that makes you pay up to get back in.
Risk
Oil stops falling or PCE runs hot on September 30, and the 10-year snaps back over 5%. This is the real hazard, because Monday proved how much of the rally leans on that one wire. Expect the sharpest names to give back most: a 3% to 5% pullback in the Nasdaq, worse in the highest-multiple chips. Trim into strength. Keep a short-duration cash cushion so a fast reversal is your opportunity, not your problem.
Our View
On Sunday we said you did not have to pick a side between bonds and stocks, only be positioned for both. Monday the bond side blinked and the stock side ran. That is the barbell working. Now the new read. Do not confuse a yield-driven bounce with an all-clear. The record is real, but it was bought with six basis points, not with earnings. Take the gain in the chips that ran, and reset the hedge you will want when PCE prints in eight days. The wire that opened the valve Monday is the same wire that can shut it. Tuesday, watch the 10-year before you watch anything else.
