The record cracked Wednesday. The Fed wants another hike, and the reason is the oil back above $100\. ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌

The Fed

The Record Cracked. The Fed Wants to Hike Again.

Wednesday the streak broke. The Dow fell 341 points and long yields hit a 24-year high, after Fed minutes showed most officials still want another rate hike this year.

We told you all week the bond market was the gravity under this rally. Wednesday the gravity won.

Key Idea

The narrow record we flagged Tuesday did not last 24 hours. Wednesday stocks fell across the board. The trigger was the Fed. Minutes from its September meeting showed most officials believe another rate hike is likely appropriate before year-end. The market had priced under a one-in-five chance of that. Long-term Treasury yields jumped to levels not seen in 24 years. And the reason the Fed is turning the screws is one you already feel. Oil. The same barrel that sets the price at your pump is now setting the ceiling on your portfolio.

A “bloodbath” Is Coming

Silicon Valley billionaires are hoarding guns, gold, and even military grade gas masks… or fleeing the country altogether. What do they know that you don’t? This AI insider is stepping forward with this time-critical message: Move your money before October 31st, ahead of the dangerous next phase of the AI market.

The Reversal

Every index went red. The Dow fell 341 points, down 0.66%. The S&P 500 slipped to 7,801\. The Nasdaq fell with it. The Russell 2000 dropped 1.31%, the worst of the group.

More than two of every three U.S. stocks declined. The narrowness finally bit.

The real move was in bonds. The 10-year Treasury yield touched 5.36% intraday, its highest since 2002\. The 30-year reached 5.73%, a 24-year high.

Read that again. The cost of money just hit levels last seen before most of today’s traders had a desk. When yields spike like that, the most expensive stocks have the most to lose. Wednesday they lost.

Jobless claims come today. CPI lands October 14.

What The Fed Actually Said

Step back to see why this matters. In September, the Fed raised its benchmark rate to a range of 3.75% to 4.00%. That was its first hike since 2023, and the vote was unanimous.

This Fed is not cutting. It is tightening.

Chair Kevin Warsh was blunt. Inflation, he said, has been too high for too long, with too many categories still rising above 3%. Sixteen of eighteen officials now expect at least one more hike before year-end. The next chances are October 28 and December 9.

The market was not positioned for it. Before the minutes, traders saw under a one-in-five chance of a hike this month. The odds jumped, and the mood turned at once.

A higher benchmark rate lifts what you pay on a mortgage, a car loan, and a credit card. It also raises the bar every stock must clear to be worth owning.

The Pump And The Portfolio

Here is what is really driving the Fed, and you feel it every week. Oil.

West Texas crude started the year near $57 a barrel. By April it hit $113\. It trades near $90 now, with Brent, the global benchmark, back above $100\. That surge is why inflation stopped falling, and why the Fed stopped waiting.

Energy was the primary reason rate-hike bets and Treasury yields climbed this week. Higher oil feeds inflation, inflation forces the Fed, the Fed lifts rates, and rates pull down stocks.

So the gas pump and your brokerage app are now the same trade. The barrel that costs more to fill your tank is the barrel setting the ceiling on the S&P. One variable now runs both.

Marc Chaikin just issued a shocking new prediction about AI.

And we encourage anyone with money in the markets to pay very close attention.

Why? Chaikin is one of Wall Street’s most respected investment minds.

His former clients have included billionaires like Steve Cohen, owner of the New York Mets…

D.E. Shaw, founder of one of the world’s leading money-management firms…

And George Soros, founder of the Quantum Fund with Jim Rogers…

He pioneered computerized trading on Wall Street.

His Chaikin Money Flow indicator is built into every Bloomberg trading terminal on Earth.

He used his 20-factor Power Gauge system to predict:

• The Covid Crash of 2020

• The Stealth Bear of 2022

• The “Liberation Day” Plunge of 2025

• And countless other events going back 50-plus years

His system flashed bullish on Micron before it soared 970% in one year…

Celestica before it soared 6,600%…

And Nvidia before it skyrocketed more than 50,000%…

But he’s calling his new prediction the biggest and most important of his career.

According to Chaikin, **[a $248 trillion “White Swan” event is about to disrupt AI.](https://go.elitemarketpoint.com/2113atls?ref=elitemarketpoint.ghost.io)**

It involves a radical new breakthrough in AI data centers.

This new technology uses 99% less electricity.

It uses 99% less water.

It uses 99% less space than current data centers.

Yet it’s more than 1 trillion times more powerful when it comes to generating major scientific breakthroughs.

“If our research is correct, This will shorten discovery timelines from years to days or even hours,” says the veteran analyst.

That means breakthroughs that would take 5 years with current AI tech will come in just 5 days – accelerating timelines by 360-fold.

One former IBM executive calls this new tech: “A scientific instrument for the ages.

And it could secure America’s AI dominance over China for generations.

Which is why the White House is spending billions to expedite the launch right now.

Even better?

The company behind this breakthrough recently flashed “bullish” in Chaikin’s system.

Now he says it could be the best AI investment for at least the next 5 years.

Chaikin reveals all the details for free **[here,](https://go.elitemarketpoint.com/2113atls?ref=elitemarketpoint.ghost.io)** in his brand-new presentation.

He even reveals the name and ticker of the company behind the coming breakthrough about halfway through the video.

**But fair warning: This is very timely information.**

Chaikin says he reserves the right to take it offline at any moment.

So don’t wait. Click the link above to check it out while you still can.

Sincerely,

Publisher, Chaikin Analytics

**P.S.** We recommend checking out Marc’s presentation right now. Drop whatever you’re doing. When this company’s new AI tech launches, his research shows it’ll render all current AI tech virtually obsolete – instantly. How? By accelerating AI breakthrough times 360X. (Breakthroughs that were supposed to come in 5 years could come in 5 days.) The time to invest is now, he says. And he reveals **[the full story – and stock ticker – here, for free.](https://go.elitemarketpoint.com/2113atls?ref=elitemarketpoint.ghost.io)** Don’t delay. This launch will happen before the end of this year.

One Barrel, Two Bills

Hold the chain in your head. West Texas crude near $57 in January. Above $110 by spring. Still elevated near $90 now, with Brent over $100\. That move is doing two jobs at once. It raises the cost of everything that ships, flies, or runs on fuel, which keeps inflation above 3%. And it pushes the Fed to hike into a market that was priced for cuts. For a year, investors watched the Fed and the oil market as two separate screens. They are one screen now. If crude keeps climbing, the October 28 hike moves from tail risk to base case, and the richest stocks have the most to lose. Watch oil the way you watch the Fed. This week they became the same story.

Three Ways This Resolves

Base

Oil stalls near $90 and yields stabilize. The pullback stays shallow and the AI leaders hold on real earnings. If you own Nvidia (NVDA) or the Nasdaq through QQQ, you ride it, but keep the equal-weight S&P (RSP) and cash earning 5% alongside. Do not chase the richest names here.

Upside

CPI on October 14 comes in soft and oil slips back toward $80\. The October hike leaves the table and yields fall under 5.2%. Wednesday’s drop becomes a buying day, with small caps (IWM) and rate-sensitive names snapping back hardest. This case rests on crude cooling.

Risk

Size this one. Oil pushes back toward $110, CPI runs hot, and the Fed hikes October 28\. The 30-year clears 5.8% and megacap multiples compress fast. Expect a 5% to 8% pullback led by the AI names, worse in unprofitable tech. This is not a dip to buy blindly, because the Fed is tightening into it. Hedge with energy (XLE), the equal-weight S&P (RSP), and short-dated Treasuries. If oil is the problem, energy is the hedge that pays you to hold it.

Our View

We have said it every day this week. Jobs collapsed and stocks rose. Yields hit 52-week highs and stocks held. The record went narrow, and we told you to respect the gravity under it. Wednesday the gravity won.

Here is the thread that ties the whole week together. It is not the jobs number or the Fed’s tone. It is oil. Crude back above its summer range is what keeps inflation hot, what pushes the Fed to hike, and what sent yields to a 24-year high. Every road this week runs back to the barrel.

Own the leaders, but hold energy and the equal-weight index beside them. And circle October 14\. One CPI print, shaped by the price of oil, now decides whether Wednesday was a blip or the start of the reckoning the bond market has been pricing all week.
