The yield that sold the banks off is the same one that pays them. Watch the guidance, not the beat. ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌

★ ELITE MARKET POINT

Market Intelligence That Moves With You

Earnings Day

Four Banks Report Before the Bell. The Yield Writes the Verdict.

JPMorgan and Wells Fargo at 7:00\. Goldman at 7:30\. Citi at 8:00\. The record held Monday by a dozen points. Today the bond market reopens and the group answers one question.

Yesterday the ceiling took the day off. Today it’s back, and the same 5.24% that capped stocks is what pays the banks. Watch one line.

Key Idea

One number still runs this market. The 10-year Treasury yield at 5.24%, a 24-year high. It sold the bank stocks off going into today. Here’s the twist. That same yield is what fattens a bank’s lending margin. When loans reprice higher, the bank earns more. That spread is net interest income. It’s the gap between what a bank collects on loans and pays on deposits. So the earnings beat everyone expects is not the story. The guidance on that one line is. Watch it.

3 Investments in 1 Stock: Income, AI Growth, Inflation Shield

Picture a stock that pays you like a fat pension…

Rides the AI boom like a tech stock…

And guards your savings from the falling dollar like gold.

Retirees usually need 3 separate investments for that.

There’s one stock that does all three at once.

CNBC’s “The Prophet” says it’s the single most important retirement stock in America right now.

Where Monday Left You

The record held. The S&P slipped 0.06% to 7,807, a dozen points under its October 6 high of 7,818.93\. The window closed without a new record.

Look under the surface. The Dow rose 0.38% to 51,851\. The Nasdaq fell 0.44% to 27,246\. That split is the whole tape. Money rotated out of expensive tech and into value. Memory and AI names led the drop. Sandisk fell more than 6%. Lumentum fell almost 10%.

That is not weakness. That is positioning. Investors cleared out of the crowded trade and parked in cautious sectors the day before the banks report.

The Verdict Opens At Seven

The bond market reopens today after the Columbus Day close. And four of the biggest banks report before the bell. JPMorgan and Wells Fargo near 7:00\. Goldman Sachs near 7:30\. Citigroup near 8:00\. Morgan Stanley follows Wednesday.

Wall Street expects roughly $5.93 a share from JPMorgan. That is the estimate, not the news. The real question is whether record trading and dealmaking can offset the pressure from the high yield. Last quarter it did, and then some. JPMorgan’s equities desk revenue jumped 86% to $6.0 billion. Goldman’s equities revenue rose 72%. These are not small beats. They are blowouts.

The yield cuts both ways for a bank. It lifts what they earn on new loans. It also marks down the bonds they already hold and pushes depositors toward higher-paying accounts. Which force wins shows up in net interest income guidance. That is the number that moves the stock.

The Fed Is Praying Trump Doesn’t Sign This. He Might Anyway.

For 50 years, Washington insiders have kept a secret that quietly stole the wealth of every working American.

They inflated the dollar into oblivion. They printed trillions out of thin air. They told you the stock market was your retirement plan while they loaded up on hard assets.

Trump has been saying this for years. He’s the only one with the backbone to do something about it.

And right now, there is growing talk inside Washington circles that he’s preparing an executive order that the globalists, the central bankers, and the entire financial establishment have been dreading for decades.

[→ Find out what Trump’s potential executive order actually does, and why the Fed is terrified of it.](https://go.elitemarketpoint.com/TrGRS1815?ref=elitemarketpoint.ghost.io)

**Here’s what they’ve been hiding in plain sight:**

America owns more gold than almost any nation on earth.

Washington has been valuing it at **1973 prices** for over 50 years, **$42.22 an ounce**, while gold trades above **$4,000 today**.

One executive order correcting that valuation would trigger the largest wealth transfer in modern American history.

$7,000 gold? $10,000? $20,000?

The last time a president reset America’s relationship with gold, one asset gained **2,300% in under a decade**.

CNN won’t cover this. The Fed is praying you never connect the dots. But Trump’s supporters have always been one step ahead of the establishment.

Then Wednesday Grades It

The banks are act one. Act two lands Wednesday at 8:30, when September inflation prints. That’s the Consumer Price Index, the government’s main gauge of what you pay at the store. Consensus sits near 3.7%.

Here’s where it gets interesting. Oil has climbed back into the $90s, which feeds straight into that number. A hot print pushes the 10-year higher, and the yield that is already a 24-year high becomes a bigger weight on your mortgage, your brokerage app, and every stock multiple in the market.

Two days. Two verdicts. The banks say whether 5.24% is a tailwind. Inflation says whether it goes higher from here.

The Beat Is Already In The Price

Bank stocks sold off into this print on the rising yield. So a headline beat barely moves them. It’s expected. The surprise can only come from two places. One, net interest income guidance moving up. Two, whether last quarter’s trading surge repeated. A bank can beat the number and still fall. Or it can raise the outlook and flip the whole story. Then the 24-year-high yield stops being the thing that sold the banks and becomes the thing that funds them.

$40,000,000,000,000.

That’s the national debt now. Forty trillion dollars.

When you started saving for retirement, it was a fraction of that. You planned around a world where the rules stayed roughly the same. While you were saving, Washington was borrowing.

Here’s the detail that should stop you cold: America now spends more paying *interest on old debt* than on the entire U.S. military.

And every path out of that hole, borrow more, print more, gets paid the same way: with the value of the dollars sitting in your account.

The people who understand this best aren’t waiting around. The central banks, the institutions that *print money for a living*, have bought over [1,000 tonnes of gold a year](https://go.elitemarketpoint.com/40TDD2902?ref=elitemarketpoint.ghost.io), three years running. Selling paper. Buying metal.

So the question worth asking isn’t whether the debt matters.

It’s this: if the people who make the dollars are quietly trading theirs for gold… what do they know about the next few years?

Three Ways Today Breaks

Base

Banks beat on trading, net interest income lands in line. The stocks drift because the beat was priced. Hold XLF, the financial-sector fund, and your bank names. The market waits for Wednesday’s inflation print before it picks a direction.

Upside

Net interest income guidance moves up and trading repeats last quarter’s surge. JPMorgan, Goldman, and Citi pop. XLF leads and the S&P clears 7,818.93\. Add to JPM and BAC. The high yield gets rebranded as the tailwind it quietly is.

Risk

The rising yield marks down bond books, guidance gets trimmed, and Wednesday’s CPI runs hot above 3.7%. Banks sell the beat. The 10-year gaps toward 5.4%. Long-duration tech takes the hit. Trim rate-sensitive growth and watch TLT, the long-term Treasury fund, for the damage.

Our View

We told you yesterday the real test was Tuesday at the open, when bonds vote and the banks answer. Here it is. Don’t trade the headline EPS. It’s already in the price. Trade the two things that aren’t: the net interest income guidance and whether the trading desks repeated their blowout quarter. Our position holds. Own the barbell. Keep your quality banks into the prints for the margin tailwind. JPMorgan and Bank of America lead it. Keep rate-sensitive growth on a short leash until Wednesday’s inflation number clears. And note the tape: gold slipped to $4,168 Monday but it hasn’t broken. People still want the insurance. By 9:31 this morning you’ll know whether the yield is the banks’ enemy or their engine.
