The bank split wasn’t about lending. It was trading versus deposits. CPI at 8:30 decides who’s next. ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌

Market Intelligence That Moves With You

CPI Morning

Goldman Detonated. The Lenders Got Sold. The Yield Picked the Winner.

Goldman beat forecasts by 30% on a trading desk that ran hot. Wells Fargo fell 3%. Today at 8:30 the inflation print decides whether that yield keeps paying.

Yesterday we told you to watch one line. The market watched a different one. The desks that feed on wild market swings won. The lenders that live on deposits lost.

Key Idea

We told you the banks would answer the yield question. They did, and the answer surprised. Goldman’s profit beat Wall Street’s forecast by about 30%. Its trading revenue jumped 72%. That’s the business that feeds on wild market swings, not lending. Wells Fargo, the most loan-heavy name in the group, missed and fell 3%. Here’s the real split. The yield on the 10-year Treasury, the interest Washington pays to borrow, just hit a 24-year high. It didn’t reward the lenders. It rewarded the traders. And the inflation number at 8:30 this morning decides whether that volatility keeps paying.

**Editor’s Note:** Jeff Brown and Marc Chaikin, two investment legends who picked Nvidia 10 years ago, are predicting that by the end of this month, Elon Musk’s new AI breakthrough will collide with a strange market pattern with a flawless 100% track record of massive market gains. [Click here to see the details](https://go.elitemarketpoint.com/MAGIBR831?ref=elitemarketpoint.ghost.io) or read more below because the last time this happened everyday folks had a chance to turn $10,000 into as much as $350,000 in just about 12 months.

Dear Reader,

Where should you invest $100 right now?

Well, Elon Musk just invented and patented [this new AI technology…](https://go.elitemarketpoint.com/MAGIBR831?ref=elitemarketpoint.ghost.io)

And he’s predicting it will launch a NEW industry that will grow more than 7 million percent in the coming years.

Think about how insane that is.

That would be enough to grow a single $100 bill into more than $7 million.

Even if Elon is only 10% right…

That would still be enough to grow $100 into more than $700,000.

That’s how big this opportunity is.

[So please click here to see the details](https://go.elitemarketpoint.com/MAGIBR831?ref=elitemarketpoint.ghost.io) because this breakthrough could create so much wealth that Elon Musk calls it…

“An infinite money glitch.”

We have so much to look forward to,

What The Banks Actually Said

Goldman Sachs crushed it. Earnings per share hit $17.01 against about $13 expected. Stock-trading revenue: $6.44 billion. Up 72%. The stock rose.

The others told a different story. JPMorgan missed on revenue, its first revenue miss in eight quarters, and the stock went nowhere. Citigroup beat, at $2.85 a share against $2.65, and barely moved. Wells Fargo missed and dropped 3%.

Read the pattern, not the headlines. The trading-heavy bank won big. The lender-heavy bank lost. That is not four separate earnings reports. That is one signal.

Bank of America and Morgan Stanley report this morning. Morgan Stanley is a trading house. Watch whether it confirms the split.

The Number That Runs Today

At 8:30 this morning, the September inflation report comes out. That’s the Consumer Price Index, the government’s main gauge of what you pay at the store. Consensus sits near 3.6%, a tick up from 3.4% in August.

Here’s why it matters more than usual. The 10-year Treasury yield is already at a 24-year high. A hot print pushes it higher still. And a higher yield is the whole game right now. It feeds the volatility that just paid Goldman. It raises the deposit costs that just hurt Wells. It crushes the fast-growing tech stocks that drop when rates climb. Those have sold off two days running on chip weakness.

One number. Three different verdicts, depending on who you own.

The print lands at 8:30\. By 8:31 the 10-year will have voted.

Former billion-dollar hedge fund manager Larry Benedict has released [the most incredible presentation of his 40-year career](https://go.elitemarketpoint.com/BSBR1007?ref=elitemarketpoint.ghost.io).

During the presentation, Larry reveals a strategy every trader and investor needs to understand.

He calls it “Bitcoin Skimming.”

[Larry’s “Bitcoin Skimming” could help you multiply Bitcoin gains by up to 22x](https://go.elitemarketpoint.com/BSBR1007?ref=elitemarketpoint.ghost.io), thanks to a breakthrough in the Bitcoin market.

That alone would be incredible enough… but there’s more.

The strategy could also help you make money from pullbacks in Bitcoin’s price.

[We’re talking cash payouts of up to $4,898 in as little as a week.](https://go.elitemarketpoint.com/BSBR1007?ref=elitemarketpoint.ghost.io)

And the wild thing?

You don’t even need to buy, sell, or own Bitcoin to do this. If you do own Bitcoin, you don’t need to put it at risk.

If you’re shaking your head in disbelief right now, I get it.

But you don’t have to take my word for it…

During the video, Larry will show you all the facts. That way, you can decide for yourself.

The Desk Beat The Branch

Wall Street asked one question yesterday: did the banks beat? The real answer was a divide. Goldman, the most trading-heavy, beat by 30% because volatility is its fuel. Wells Fargo, the most branch-and-loan heavy, missed because the high yield works against it. It has to pay savers more. The older bonds it holds are worth less. And the loans it already made still earn the old, lower rate. Same yield. Opposite outcome. So today’s inflation number is not just a stat. A hot print means more volatility and a higher yield. That keeps paying the trading desks. And it keeps punishing the lenders and the fast-growing tech already in retreat.

Three Ways The Print Breaks

Base

CPI lands near 3.6%. The 10-year holds its high. The bank split persists. Hold the trading banks, Goldman (GS) and Morgan Stanley (MS), for the tailwind from busy markets. Hold fewer of the lenders. The market drifts until the next catalyst.

Upside

CPI comes in cool, below 3.6%. The 10-year eases. The record at 7,818.93 finally falls, and the fast-growing tech that’s been sold snaps back. Buy more. XLK, the tech-sector fund, leads and the chips bounce.

Risk

CPI runs hot, above 3.7%. The 10-year jumps sharply past its 24-year high. Lenders and fast-growing tech take the hit, and the record stays out of reach. Cut back on fast-growing tech and TLT, the long-term Treasury fund. Lean on GS, MS, and energy.

Our View

We told you the banks would answer the yield, and the signal turned out to be the trading desk, not the lending business. Now the same test runs again. Morgan Stanley, a trading house, reports into the CPI this morning. Our read holds. The 24-year-high yield has quietly sorted the market into two piles: what it pays and what it punishes. It pays the wild market swings and the desks that trade them. It punishes savers’ rates, long-term bonds, and the tech still selling off. A few strategists put it more bluntly, warning of what they call [The Great AI Divide. America Is Splitting In Two.](https://go.elitemarketpoint.com/PRGPC278L1?ref=elitemarketpoint.ghost.io) Own both ends. Hold the trading banks, Goldman and Morgan Stanley, and go easy on fast-growing tech until the 10-year proves it can fall. The inflation report is the hinge. Watch 8:31, not 8:30\. The number is the headline. The yield’s reaction is the trade.
